Originally trained in the Australian wine industry, Jeff Martin and his wife Niva were enticed to join the emerging Canadian wine industry in 1994. Soon after they realized the Naramata Bench with its cool dry desert climate, glacial soils and pristine landscapes overlooking Lake Okanagan were infinitely suited to producing world-class wines. The Martin’s established LA FRENZ in 1999 with the goal to produce wines with a distinct sense of place. Today, they have four vineyards planted to specific varieties suited to the terroir of that specific site. Our farming methods are holistic and in tune with natural processes to further our goals of sustainability, while at the same time producing super-premium grapes to craft our award-winning wines. Named 5 times “Best Small Winery of the Year” at worldwide recognized competitions such as Riverside International Wine Competition in 2013 & 2014 in California, Intervin 2015/2016 in Canada and in 2017, LA FRENZ was awarded “Best Small Winery of the Year” in both the prestigious National Wine Awards of Canada and the Dan Berger International Wine Competition, California.
