Visiting the Four Shadows tasting room feels like you are visiting an extension of the Borren family home. This will come as no surprise for those familiar with Joka & Wilbert, the owner / operators of Four Shadows Vineyard and Winery on the Naramata Bench. A passion for family and farming lies at the heart of the Holland born couple. In 2011 the Borren family attempted to leave the farm life they had set up in Alberta behind, but the desire to live from the land was too strong and very quickly a 17 acre vineyard property was purchased on the Naramata Bench and farm life resumed. As you find your self relaxing in the tasting room you will find yourself surrounded by the families hard work, although the four Barron boys are no longer on the property you can see their handy work in the building renovations or the beautiful sign that hands just outside the tasting room door. As small independent producers, the Joka & Wilbert are actively involved in every step of the wine making process, from all of the vineyard work, to harvesting, producing and showcasing their wines in the tasting room.
